I love the alchemical process of making theater and have worn many artistic and institutional hats - Director, Producer, Administrator, Dramaturg. Life in the theater has made me a passionate collaborator and committed team builder. I prize the close relationships I have forged with artists and colleagues.  

I have a passion for developing new work. My recent directing projects include world premieres by: Dael Orlandersmith, Kimber Lee, Eliza Clark, Julia Cho and Jennifer Haley. I have worked on new plays and musicals at major theaters and arts organizations including, Center Theatre Group, La Jolla Playhouse, New York Theater Workshop, Goodman Theater, Contemporary American Theater Festival, the Ojai Playwrights Conference, Sundance Theatre Lab, Hedgebrook and the Playwrights Center.  

I have also served on review panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, PEN West and Theatre Communications Group, among others.  

I graduated from Oberlin College with high honors. I am a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society as well as the Directors Guild of America. I live with my wife in Los Angeles, and we are the enthusiastic parents of two university students.
